Our schedules are modeled on those of chickens : lying at 20h, standing at the rooster. And yet, despite our eight hours (or more) of sleep, nothing to do, our body lets go and our days beat to the rhythm of our incessant yawning.

No doubt the fault asthenia, medically little disease (re) known characteristic prolonged chronic fatigue which rest is not the cure.

Here are some elements that can help us better understand this state.

Asthenia: is our diet the cause?

Not a day without potatoes, chocolate bars or cereal products and sugar remains our sin.

A fatal combination since our blood sugar (blood sugar) becomes too high. What makes it fall at the speed of light in a second time and trigger our damn pumping.

Food intolerance can also be a cause of chronic fatigue. If most of the time it is accompanied by digestive symptoms, it can also be silent.

It can be an intolerance to gluten , protein found in many cereals such as wheat.

A deficiency (in particular iron) can come to explain this state. A blood test will be necessary to determine this last point.

Attention to sleep disorders

Any anomaly, as slight as it is, makes impossible a total recovery of its means.

According to a survey conducted by the National Institute of Sleep and Vigilance, 40 % of French people suffer from sleep disorders. If lack of sleep obviously makes it less efficient, it can also lead to memory loss and increased appetite. This adds to what ultimately risk of overweight.

Sleep apnea is one of the main pathologies involved. It is a state of extreme fatigue when waking up accompanied by periods of drowsiness all day long. The nights are short because the breathing is difficult and very noisy.

We monitor our environment

A demanding job, an endless move, a breakup ... Stressful situations are as numerous as inevitable. It's hard to say if stress is the cause or the effect of chronic fatigue.

But one thing is certain : the two are interdependent. If stress can be galvanizing, it is also very oxidative. It must be understood that it can attack the body and its functioning.

Our health and its impact on chronic fatigue

We think of managing our health book as a leader.

And yet, between the viruses we catch, the anemia caused by menstruation and our chronic fatigue, we have never dared to make the slightest connection. That we fool ourselves. The slightest health concern, no matter how small, may be a factor of chronic fatigue.

Even a simple cold should not escape our vigilance.

Against asthenia, beware of bad habits

Since our exhaustion is an integral part of our daily life, we know all the stimulants on the fingertips: coffee, food supplements, energy drinks ...   And in the evening, to counteract, we go to sleeping pills.

Bad calculation! This "self-medication" completely disrupts our body: it is better to refer to the advice of a doctor.

If all these products can initially prove to be effective , they do not remain an end in themselves. On the contrary, it will only be more difficult to break out of this vicious circle.

Carrying such a lifestyle brings its share of risks: addiction, side effects ... Note that the combination coffee / stimulant, as innocuous it seems, can be dangerous for our health.

Faced with chronic fatigue, the safest way is to consult a doctor first to determine the causes of the disorder and then adopt appropriate treatment.
