"Poison", an evocation of the forbidden fruit


In 1985, the release of "Poison", the newborn of Christian Dior fragrances, is a real event all over the world, and particularly in Japan where the success is immediate. During the first weeks, a bottle of "Poison" is sold every 50 seconds: a record! It must be said that this perfume is particularly provocative and addictive. This ultra-heady floral oriental is clearly inspired by another fragrance launched in the late 1970s by L'Artisan perfumer, "Mûre et Musc". Its originality lies in the overdose of tuberose and red fruits that give it all its personality. The bottle has the shape of a deep purple apple, a reference to the apple of Eve or Snow White, which symbolizes both the forbidden fruit and the poison of sin.
