A soft medicine for animals?
They suffer the same evils as their masters. Osteopathy (like a manual listening of the body) applies as much to the dogs, to the cats as to the rodents ... especially when the conventional treatments do not give results. This technique consists, in them also, in precise manipulations on the painful zones.

In which cases does it work?
Lameness, rheumatism, digestive disorders (vomiting, diarrhea ...), skin problems, difficult recovery after surgery ... Osteopathy also heals osteoarthritis of the joints, not obvious to detect because the animals do not express the pain. If your dog has more enthusiasm in walks, remains prostrate, growls when caressed, it may be osteoarthritis: osteopathy sessions will put oil in the mechanics. Relieved, he will regain his flexibility and stretch as before.

What happens during a session ?
The animal stands on its feet, on the examination table, without being tied.
Caress his head to reassure him! The veterinarian can then examine it. He palpates, identifies the blocking areas, then proceeds to micromovements. Not so unpleasant finally, and as it does him good, your companion is quiet and would almost ask again. A consultation lasts, according to the practitioners, from 20 to 45 min and costs between 50 and 65 €.

Sometimes a session is enough but it may need 5 or 6, depending on the pathology.

Where to find an osteopath veterinarian?
You can contact the Council of the Veterinary Order which will give you a list, or go to the website www.vetosteo.fr
