Which razor to choose? It is a dilemma that tortures the brains of many young men. We'll explain what's on the market.

What are the different types of razors?

Two types of razors are available:
- The mechanical razor . In this category is the hand razor , which can be bought in the form of a disposable razor or an interchangeable blade razor and the cabbage cutter , which is reserved for the initiated.
- The electric razor . There are electric razors with rotating and grating heads .

Unlike shaving mowers, shavers provide a close shave and a truly sharp finish.

Electric razor vs mechanical razor: same fight?

Between electric razor and manual razor, your heart balances? Although the most important is the preparation of the skin before shaving, there are some differences between these 2 categories that can help the final choice.
The mechanical razor allows a close shave while the electric is less accurate. However, it sensitizes to a lesser extent the skin (the hydraulic film is less attacked with an electric razor, which delights the sensitive skin) but the regrowth is done more quickly.
When purchasing, you must choose a razor according to the sensitivity of your skin . For a very sensitive skin, which knows, redness, pimples and ingrown hairs, an electric razor can be privileged .

What should you consider when buying a razor?

Mechanical shaver
It is essential to inquire upstream on the razor that you want to buy. For a mechanical razor, when buying, you must first look at the handle and its ergonomics. Is it easy to handle? Does it suit me?
Thereafter, it is advisable to choose the number of blades. For this, the best technique is to try the 3 or 5 blades and decide what is best for the skin. The little extra : some shavers have a lubricating band that allows to moisturize the skin and facilitate the passage of the razor.
Contrary to conventional wisdom, a razor with more blades will not be more effective than another. This depends on the quality of the blade and the preparation of pre-shave skin .

Electric razor
If you want to buy an electric shaver, you should first look at the range of the electric razor. It is better to have a shaver that charges quickly but gently discharges for more battery life .
There are also quite effective options on an electric shaver.
A razor that can go under the water . A real asset when you are used to shaving in the shower. In addition, the hot water allows to dilate the pores and to soften the skin for a better shave.

How to maintain a razor?

Whether you choose a mechanical or electric razor , a razor is maintained and cleaned every time , for hygienic reasons.
An electric shaver changes every two years . There are on the market, sprays cleaner that disinfect, oil and lubricate the shaving heads. Some shavers can also be sold with a station to clean the device.
A manual razor, for its part, holds 4 to 10 shaves , depending on the quality of the blades. It is better to buy a shaver with interchangeable blades rather than a disposable razor to buy only the blades (and avoid spending a small fortune).
As a matter of hygiene, once again, one avoids lending his razor , whether manual or electric.
