The Aquarium of Paris free for adults

For its tenth anniversary, the Aquarium de Paris does not charge admission to adults, the weekends of September 3, 10 and 11. However, the operation is limited to 2 adults per child. Director Alexis Powilewicz wants to "allow families to discover or rediscover the establishment at a preferential rate" . This is good news for families, since no less than 700,000 people visit the aquarium each year (half of them under the age of 13). And the establishment organizes daily, interactive animations for the little ones ... but also for the big ones! Movies are shown in 2 cinemas and you can even see a siren !

The Aquarium of Paris: a place full of history

Located in the gardens of Trocadero , the Aquarium of Paris was the first aquarium built in the world (dating from 1867 ). Built on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition in 1878 , the site was used to house the cavalry of Napoleon under the Chaillot hill.

In 1985 , the Aquarium closed because of dilapidation. But thanks to numerous investments, it is rebuilt, and reopens its doors to the public in 2006 ! It now has about fifty basins to discover more than 10,000 fish and invertebrates. But mostly owns the largest colony of sharks .
