The Mondial de l 'Auto 2016 , taking place at the Paris Exhibition Center from 29 September to 16 October, is in full swing. The fans of cars can then only rave about the multitude of vehicles present at the show. For the occasion, eBay has carried out (in partnership with Ipsos) a study on the relationship of the French with their car. We learn that the French get their first car at 21 years old, and that they dream of a road-trip on the legendary Route 66 (rockers in the soul?). Here are the 4 amazing numbers on our history with the car:

- 50% have learned to drive with their father . Even today, many apprentice drivers prefer to pass their driving license in accompanied driving than in "traditional" driving. Indeed, the success rate of the permit is 74%.

- 57% of the French have already made love in their car , 54% of them women and 60% of men. France comes in third behind the Italians (with 70%) and the Spaniards (68%).

- 71% of drivers drive 10,000 kilometers each year . Or the equivalent of a Paris-Bangkok! Even if public transport is more numerous in France, some are not really fond of it ... To counter this, the City of Paris is actively fighting to curb the use of the car, especially with its days without cars.

- 23% of French people have their best memories by car during their evenings with friends. The youth is very representative, with 19% of the drivers who have their best memories during the first holidays, between friends or couples (15%).
