The red that goes up to the cheeks? Nothing is cooler when it comes to a simple touch of blush. But sometimes it's a bit more complicated. If some of us are lucky to have naturally pink cheekbones, for others redness can be a real handicap.

Redness and pimples, a case of rosacea

10% of the world's population is affected by rosacea, an inflammatory disease that causes redness of the face and sometimes pimples. The most susceptible to this disease? Women with fair skin. This disease, also called rosacea, has several levels.

  • Stage 1: The redness is not permanent but is triggered when one is exposed to triggers such as emotions, the consumption of alcohol or hot drinks.
  • Stage 2: The redness is permanent and the small blood vessels are more or less visible.
  • Stage 3: The appearance of pimples adds to the symptoms of stage 2: it is this stage that corresponds to rosacea
  • Stage 4: The redness is permanent, the skin swells up and can be deformed ... This stage generally concerns only men over 50 and rarely meets today.

To meet these different stages of blushing, there are obviously tailored solutions ranging from cosmetics to surgery (for the 4th stage). But diet can help us too. Or at least prevent the symptoms from getting worse.

These foods to avoid when you have skin rashes

As in many situations, diet also plays a role here. The foods that are consumed can thus act as triggers and cause the appearance of redness. If you are subject to it, here are 5 foods to banish from your plate!

  • Spices and spicy foods trigger flushes , that is, sudden reddening of the face in people with intermittent or permanent redness.
  • The peppers favor sudden variations in the caliber of the vessels of the face. The capsaicin they contain dilates the blood vessels of the mouth, the face blushes in seconds and it is overheating ensured for about thirty minutes.
  • Alcohol acts on our body by dilating the blood vessels.
  • Very hot foods call for an adaptation response from our body. The increase in temperature causes dilation of the blood vessels of the face ... favoring the visibility of the vessels on the face.
  • Fatty foods are high in saturated fats. The wrongs of these? They increase inflammation in all vessels of the body, skin included. We therefore limit their consumption especially those of industrial origin!
