Nowadays, it is easy to find cosmetic products to fight against wrinkles , bags and other dark circles: at the corner of the street or in a click, they are within our reach.

Our grandmothers, for the most part, managed with what they found directly in their fridge and kitchen cupboards!

Here is a selection of their best homemade care recipes to clear and correct the signs of the weather.

  • A protective cream around the eyes

Ingredients: 2 teaspoons of shea butter , 2 teaspoons of beeswax chips, 2 teaspoons of avocado oil , 3 teaspoons of sweet almond oil , 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, 1 teaspoon of blueberry water and 5 drops of carrot essential oil.

In practice: in a bain-marie, melt the shea butter and the wax, as well as the avocado and sweet almond oil. Outside the fire, add while whisking vigorously the aloe vera gel and the cornflower water. Act as if to add mayonnaise and add 5 drops of carrot essential oil.

  • A juice to fight against crow's feet

In addition to a specific care with the fluid texture, prepare this juice, to drink every day. Blend 2 red apples, 5 large handfuls of pitted black cherries or ripe strawberries and fresh mint.

  • A homemade blueberry water

Cornflower water is very effective at relieving congestion and reducing dark circles . It also soothes the eyes of those who are constantly in front of a computer screen.

Ingredients : 30 grams of untreated dried blueberry flowers and 1.5 liters of water.

In practice: boil the water in a saucepan and then, out of the fire, throw in the blueberry flowers. Let steep for 15 minutes, stirring regularly. Filter the flowers and pour your blueberry water into a bottle. Each morning, apply cornflower water to your eyes with compresses. Do not store your blueberry water for more than 7 days.

  • A gentle makeup remover for the eyes

Ingredients: sweet almond oil, castor oil and blueberry water

In practice: In a bottle, mix two doses of sweet almond oil and one dose of castor oil. Add two doses of blueberry water to create a two-phase makeup remover. Mix well before applying the makeup remover with a cotton pad.

  • A concealer patch with goji berries (at least once a week)

Ingredients: 9 ml spring water, 10 goji berries dried, 0.3 gram agar agar.

In practice: in a glass bowl, prepare an infusion of goji berries. Boil it with the agar agar and mix with a fork for a minute. Pour the still hot mixture onto parchment paper and create two circles. Put in a cool place to harden them. Apply on your moistened eyelids for 20 minutes. Discard them after use.

  • Tea bags to clear the bags under the eyes (once a week and as soon as the need arises)

In practice: to decongest the bags under your eyes, apply moistened tea or chamomile sachets, compresses chamomile hydrolat or blueberry. Put in masks, they have a draining effect and decongest. Do not forget to drink a lot of water .

  • A concealer with coffee grounds

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of coffee grounds and a few drops of lemon juice .

In practice: in a bowl, mix all the ingredients and place your preparation in the fridge for several hours. Apply your concealer under the eyes and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing.

  • Cucumber slices

It's not a legend ! Cucumbers are effective in reducing puffiness and dark circles. Cut two slices that you let cool in the fridge for at least an hour before applying them for 15 minutes on your closed eyelids.
