Désirée de Lamarzelle: Is your character - very undecided - suffering from a pathology?
Alexandra Lamy: Juliette, My character, can not make any decision. It was her father who found her trade and her friends who choose her clothes, her hair, and even what she must eat. A handicap that pushed her to organize around her loved ones. But there, she will have to make ultimate choice, a choice of love.
Do you understand this handicap?
In life, we all face problems of choice: "Do I wear boots, sneakers or heels because I have an appointment? ". There are about 35,000 questions a day in the private sphere as a professional. The question of choice is amplified with the temptations of the consumer society. The number of times I had to call my sister to choose a birthday gift to do to a friend! Juliette is a character who looks completely like me in the end (laughs).
It is a film that talks about celibacy, like making it alone at 40 years. Is this a subject that affects many people in the end?
When we proposed this scenario to Eric Lavaine (director), he asked me to read it but he did not think of me for the role, but rather for a 30 year old actress. After reading it, I found that taking a 40-year-old woman whose relationship to time, like that of the biological clock, was more interesting.

You are seen more and more often in comedies, it is a will on your part?
Comedy is a technique, which is more difficult to adopt than one might think. Yet-and unfortunately-one admires more easily the play of the drama. To succeed in a comedy, it takes the right scenario, the dialogue, the actors but also the director. If one of the aspects misses the call it does not forgive. As far as I'm concerned, I like both genres. If I only do comedy, I'm afraid of ticking and getting bored. It is necessary to renew itself and it is very difficult in humor. I do not want to be locked up in a box.

Would you be interested in writing a film?
I bought the rights of a book called Blanquette (by Laure Buisson). But, I do not feel myself in the role of author. I have ideas, I like to develop things, but I feel unable to write. The profession of author is not improvised. On the other hand, I would like to realize a lot. I love telling stories. Nor do I forget the theater. I come from there.
