Who is Jean-Michel Basquiat?

Jean-Michel Basquiat was born in New York, in the Brooklyn district in December 1960, and has Puerto Rican and Haitian origins. Early, he learned to read and write at just 4 years. Encouraged by his mother, it was also at this age that he began to develop his talents as a draftsman. He then studied art in a crested Brooklyn institution but quickly dropped out of school. It was at this time that he made friends with graffiti artists and made his own graffiti . He began to make a name for himself and continued his career as a solo artist until 1979. In 1981, his first solo exhibition was devoted to exhibitions and exhibitions in several galleries. At the same time, he reached his ultimate goal by meeting Andy Warhol , whom he sees as a means of gaining fame. The two men became good friends and joined together to create more than a hundred canvases together. Very much affected by the disappearance of Andy Warhol on February 22, 1987, Jean-Michel Basquiat gradually withdraws from worldly life and produces little. In 1988, after a stay in Hawaii where he hoped to cure his addiction, Jean-Michel Basquiat returned to New York. 10 days later, he is found dead in his apartment of an overdose.
