ingredients

1 whole turkey ready to cook (3.5 to 4 kg)

50 g of butter

For the stuffing:

100 g of butter

1 onion
400 g of minced meat (200 g of pork 200 g of veal)
400 g canned tomatoes peeled and seeded
100 g of bread
50 ml of milk
250 g of frozen gooseberries
1 C. to s. pine nuts
Salt, pepper, parsley

Steps

Step 1

Melt the 100 g butter in a pan.

2nd step

Add the onion and leave to brown for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add the minced meat and continue cooking for about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Add the tomatoes, the bread previously moistened in the milk, the 250 g currants, pine nuts and parsley.

    Step 5

    Salt, pepper.

    Step 6

    Cook the stuffing over low heat until the liquid is evaporated.

    Step 7

    Brush the turkey with the 50 g butter.

      Step 8

      Stuff the turkey, tie it up.

      Step 9

      Cook the turkey in a hot oven for 20 minutes per pound (ie 2:20 to 2:40 for a 3.5 to 4 kg turkey).

      To prevent the legs from drying out when cooked, thin slices of bacon.
