Working Bag Gucci Bamboo

Launched in an era of rationing raw materials, Gucci's Bamboo model was designed in robust Tuscan boar leather, with two pockets hiding a small mirror.

Outside, his handle and bamboo cane clasp earned him his name and a bestseller destiny. Exotic touches on a rather classic form, it was no more necessary to seduce the elegant 50s and 60s, like Vanessa Redgrave in the film "Blow-up" by Michelangelo Antonioni.

The Year of the Icons

Frida Giannini, the creative director of Gucci, created "Collection 1921", which reinterprets the use of the jaws, flanges, GG monogram and badge for the brand's 90 years. Also the bag New Bamboo cowhide leather (from 2,250 €) or crocodile, in various colors including the bottle green: house color.

Gucci Bamboo Bags

More than sixty years after its launch, this iconic Gucci bag still uses a special manufacturing process. Each of its pieces of leather is carefully cut to the unit and to the scalpel.

Then hand-stitched for assembly according to a very precise order that gradually integrates the linings and buckles, even the shoulder straps and fringed pompons for the versions of the ninetieth birthday, called New Bambou.

The latter can collect up to one hundred and forty pieces and different pieces, requiring a minimum of thirteen hours of work. And an exceptional helping hand to heat the bamboo without burning it, bending it without breaking it. In short, an art!
