THE STONE OF ALUN: MY NATURAL DEODORANT

Alum stone has always been known for its antiperspirant properties. Moreover, it is a very popular ingredient of organic deodorants. Applied directly to the skin, it leaves a fine powder of mineral salts. Antibacterial, it fights the ugly bacteria responsible for bad odors. It is also astringent and effectively regulates sweating without preventing it. Clearly, it has the advantage of not blocking the pores of the skin. Because sweating is a natural phenomenon, indispensable to your body, even if you would prefer to do without it! Finally, the hypoallergenic properties of the alum stone make it perfectly tolerated by all skin, even the most sensitive.

HOW TO USE THE STONE OF ALUN?

The alum stone can be used raw. Just moisten it with cold water before applying it to clean, dry armpits. Be careful, however, for very sensitive skin, it is better to avoid applying it immediately after shaving or depilation. If you sweat feet, it will be your secret weapon against bad odors! It's done right! The alum stone powder is also perfect for carrying a foot bath. Simply dilute it in a little warm water and soak your feet for about ten minutes before drying. This crystalline stone is totally odorless. So you can moisten it with the organic mint, jasmine or rose hydrates. It is also possible to add a drop of essential oil of Palmarosa bio, often used in the manufacture of classic deodorants. You get a natural deodorant, delicately perfumed. The icing on the cake, the alum stone is neither sticky nor greasy and leaves no marks on your clothes!

THE ALUNY STONE IN A DIY DEODORANT

Alum stone is an excellent alternative to industrial deodorants. To make your "do it yourself" deodorant, you need alum stone powder, talc (or white clay) and white musk powder. Mix all ingredients and store in a clean, dry box. Simply take a pinch and apply it on your armpits. Think of using this home made deodorant on your little tits, to protect your sweaty ballerinas. Still a good reason to make it a place in your summer routine.

HOW TO CHOOSE ALONG STONE?

The alum stone must be pure and natural. Opt for a polished stone, more practical to use than the raw form. You can also find it in powder, pebble, spray or stick. Read the composition carefully on the label: the formula you choose should be labeled "100% potassium alum". Especially, flee the synthetic version called "ammonium alum" made from ammonium salt. The alum stone is very friable, so pay attention to the falls which shorten its life. It is also very economical since it has a much longer lifetime than a traditional deodorant. After use, keep it dry and keep it clean.
