Everyone knows the Sea of Sand, the oldest theme park in France, opened in 1963 (by the actor Jean Richard, who played Maigret for a long time and who was also director of circuses), located in the heart of the forest. 'Ermenonville, 45 minutes from Paris. This park has been for decades the happiness of little ones. Due to its "human size", waiting times to reasonable attractions, live rides and shows suitable for children from 3 years old, it is the perfect park for a day with children (no less than 30 attractions of which 80% are accessible to younger people.)

Today with two of its last attractions, the Simoun and the Aquasouk, the Sandy Sea also caters to the more than 10 years .

- Aboard the Simoun , a saucer that turns on its way up and down on a U-shaped axis, speed and sensations are there to delight the biggest.

- Aquasouk, made of nacelles equipped with water cannons , makes it possible to water each other and offers there a very joyous way to engage in a water battle. This attraction is accessible according to size (it is necessary to make 90 cm minimum and to be accompanied by an adult, but the access is free from 1m10).

- Finally, the last attraction inaugurated at the end of July: B andidos. The "young adventurers" can try the triple eight experience (less spectacular than the big 8), but the nacelles turn more on themselves!

We liked it : during a heat wave, as was the case in 2016, the Aquasouk is really an attraction to try. The other two attractions are quite successful when you like the thrills but not the extreme and the trump card of the Sand Sea is its dimension: the wait time is very reasonable on each attraction (it counts with small ones). Moreover, with tickets available from 17 €, the Mer de Sable remains an affordable family outing.

We liked it less : access to the park remains a bit complicated for those who do not have a car.

The sea of sand is open every weekend of September. Reopening in April. Infos about merdesable.fr
