Monoprix receives a golden egg

After having launched for the fight against waste and played the Locavore card, the Monoprix brand takes care of its chickens . The Compassion in World Farming Association (CIWF), dedicated to the protection of farm animals , organizes each year a ceremony where it awards its Animal Welfare Trophies to major French and European companies most committed. And this year, June 28, 2016, Monoprix received a golden egg . Why such a price? Because last April 11 , Monoprix has permanently removed from its shelves , eggs category 3 , so the eggs of hens raised in cages , all brands.

And this is not the first Trophée Bien-être Animal that the association awards to the brand. In 2013 , Monoprix received a Golden Egg Honor Award after deciding to sell only free range eggs under its own brand. The following year, in 2014 , Monoprix received a Gold Cows Award of Honor for its commitment to the welfare of dairy cows on farms supplying the milk brand for its distributor brand. An example : these cows producing Monoprix milk have the right to graze during the summer. A good effort in the face of scandals affecting the living conditions of farm animals, including slaughterhouse slaughter in France highlighted in the videos of the L214 association . This year, out of 38 awards, 7 French companies received an award for their animal welfare policy, including the Michel et Augustin company , the Rey poultry farm and the Harry's bakery brand. All 3 received a golden egg for their commitment to no longer use caged hen eggs.
