The story

In this re-entry of new series, there is one that honors an actress whom we had not seen for ten years on the small screen: Sarah Jessica Parker, aka Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City. At 51, the actress returns to OCS City with Divorce , a satirical comedy made in HBO on the difficulties of marriage. From the first scene, the tone is given: the couple that Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) trains with her husband Robert (Thomas Haden Church) is in perdition.

They cross each other in total indifference, pacing the corridors of their beautiful house in the midst of their two teenagers in crisis. Worse, over the course of the episodes, and when the extramarital adventure of Frances is revealed, their relationship turns into a festival of fingers, vinyls played too loud and low blows. Between mediation sessions for the psychologist and lawyers' meetings, the separation is expected to be complex.

Why do we look at Divorce?

If the theme can seem dark, the series is actually very funny. The cynicism of the characters reaches such a level that one can only smile and be moved at the same time in the face of the history of this couple that is guessed to have been mad lovers, but who now seems to no longer know each other.

Divorce: what did we like?

Fans of the first hour of Sex And The City can rejoice. With Divorce , one really has the sensation of finding an old girlfriend. And if Frances is very different from Carrie Bradshaw, the mimicry of the star and her girlfriends a bit zinzin remind us nevertheless that she is not very far.

The discussions between girls, slightly tinged with intoxication, always turn around the boys. Except this time, we are talking about the couple's wear and the quest for orgasm spent 20 years of marriage.

You'll love it if ...

You're a fan of Sex And The City and Sarah Jessica Parker missed you. If, on the contrary, it annoys you already, do not go. The fans of the series The Affair will also appreciate the intrigue, and the questions that the series arouses about the couple. How, when one has built a whole life together, do we become real strangers to one another? Above all, can we recover from adultery?

Divorce , with Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church, from October 10, 10:50 pm on OCS City (US 24h)
