A recent study conducted by microbiologist Nick Coleman unveiled what's really in these festival bracelets.

He therefore analyzed three bracelets, dating from 2009, 2010 and 2016. After two days of incubation, the oldest bracelets were covered with bacteria. The bracelet dated 2010 contained 600 million bacteria and the bracelet dated 2016 already had 80,000 bacteria on it.

Of course, these bacteria are dangerous to the human in the long run, which is why we must not take away memories of festivals that color the wrist, says Dr. Nick Coleman.

If you start your comeback this first day of September, it's time to cut your festival bracelets NOW! This will also mark the end of the summer, the renewal, the transition to a new stage.

If you really care, keep them in a box or notebook, but do not touch them anymore!
