Pollen allergies can occur anywhere, anytime, without necessarily having suffered before. And when the allergy comes, it's hell: allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma , itchy eyes, sneezing, breathing difficulties are part of the daily lives of people who suffer.

So, to prevent risks, especially in the summer when it is very hot, the pharmaceutical company ALK publishes with Dr. Pascal Bousiquier, allergist in Paris, a series of tips to limit the harmful effects of pollen on our health.

1- Maintain air conditioning

The air conditioning of the car or office is almost always running in the summer. It may be an ally for people with allergies who avoid opening the windows in a big pollen period. Provided of course that it is well maintained not to be contaminated by bacteria or mold that can become allergenic. The ideal: clean thoroughly before the start of the season, and maintain regularly throughout the summer.

2- Do not skip the evening shower

We do not necessarily think about it, but wet hair tends to retain the pollen that circulates in the air. So in summer, when you bathe often, you have to be vigilant. The evening shower is an essential step for people with allergies: it helps to get rid of all the dirt accumulated in the day and not to contaminate pillow and bed linen.

3- To dry the laundry indoors

Like our hair, wet clothes also pick up the pollens transported by the air. So even if it's tempting to dry your clothes in the sun , it's better to be careful when you're allergic and dry it indoors, with windows closed.
