To carry out this study, Holidu has based itself on the search for housing for 4 people between 2 July and 3 September 2016 . And in order to optimize our budget, we should give priority to the countries of the East.

Hungary, the most affordable country in Europe

Hungary is the winner of the cheapest 4-person holiday rental in Europe with an average price of 62 € per night .
- Closely monitored by the Czech Republic : 73 € per night.
- Poland : 83 € per night on average.
- Slovenia, Austria, Ireland and Croatia are tied with an average price of 87 € per night.

For those who go at the last minute, the eastern countries are the cheapest destinations in Europe to go on holiday this summer.

Switzerland, dream destination?

Conversely, at the top of the ranking, among the most expensive destinations, are the countries of Northern Europe. And in first place, Switzerland with an average of 158 € per night of accommodation. No sea or fine sand there but rather a return to nature and a pronounced taste for outdoor activities such as hiking .
- Then comes the Netherlands with holiday rentals at 143 € per night on average for 4 people.
- Then the United Kingdom : 142 € per night on average.

And France in all this?

France is a European destination that remains accessible, rather located in mid-ranking with on average one night at 100 € for a rental of 4 people. For regions, to save money, it is better to privilege the Center (Auvergne or Rhône-Alpes) where the average price of the night is 61 €. On the other hand, the Ile-de-France region and Corsica posted much higher prices: € 131 and € 125 respectively .
