To understand the benefits of this sport, we asked three questions to Paula Taylor, detox yoga teacher at Usine Opera.

What is detox yoga?

It is a yoga that allows, through specific movements and postures to detoxify the body and soothe the mind.

This dynamic yoga connects simple movements to achieve.

Each part of the body is stretched and compressed to participate in the elimination of excess lactic acid causing muscle pain and general fatigue , which can be felt in our urban and stressful lifestyles.

Chains and postures are selected for their stimulating and draining actions on the body.

What are the benefits of detox yoga?

At the end of a detox yoga session, you'll feel relaxed, laid-back, with a feeling of absolute well-being and wholeness.

The first movements allow to work the breath via deep breathing exercises, in order to oxygenate the blood and regenerate the cells.

As the yoga detox course progresses, the different poses will alternately cleanse the digestive system, fluidify the lymph or stimulate blood circulation.

Detox yoga is particularly effective when it comes in addition to another sporting activity: football, bodybuilding, tennis, cycling, swimming, surfing ...

Why do detox yoga?

We start detox yoga to take full care of ourselves, physically and spiritually.

It allows to work the body differently, it solicits the internal organs and muscles that one does not reach necessarily through the practices of other activities.

Detox yoga improves digestion, sleep, reduces stress and helps to lose some extra pounds , especially in the stomach.

One of the significant benefits of detox yoga is that it is accessible to all, regardless of age or flexibility.

We start slowly, first once a week, then add one to two sessions.

The ideal is to do three sessions a week.
