Eat less to eat better? Detox diets and fasting are becoming more and more popular but are they really good for our well-being and our health? Not sure to believe the latest scientific studies.

Diet in the eye of specialists

The French Association of Dietitians Nutritionists notes that no scientific study has proven the benefits of diets "detox" on healthy people *. It quickly puts things back in their place ... and we look again at the lemon diet , the 5: 2 diet and all the other more or less crazy diets !

Daily detox

The detox philosophy stems from the idea that we would poison ourselves on a daily basis (because of pollution, food, drugs) and that our body can not manage this influx of toxic substances. Result: migraines, painful joints, digestive disorders and extra pounds. To get better, it would be necessary to do a great cleaning several times a year by eating much less and consuming products that capture and evacuate toxins for a few weeks. But, in reality, our liver, our kidneys or our lungs perfectly know how to eliminate only the daily waste (otherwise, it is a failure that leads directly to the hospital). As for the pounds lost, so soon left, soon resumed.

We stop punishing each other

Exit cabbage soup and lemon cure. Instead of punishing oneself (or reassuring oneself) after an excess, one rectifies the shooting smoothly. On the menu, a water rich in bicarbonate (Vichy, Quézac, Badoit, ...) that helps gastric mucosa recover from alcohol , fruits and vegetables for a soothing digestive system (beetroot helps metabolize fat, banana to fight against the retention of water, ...) and spices to tone the body (anti-nausea ginger, anti-infectious cinnamon). If necessary, we support liver and kidneys with a mixture of draining plants: artichoke and milk thistle or black radish. And of course, we move every day.
