Fresh and translucent, the young twigs of this shrub , rather thin and filled with rare tender spines , are a mixture of gray-green and purple. The foliage, smooth and satiny, draws on the almond green. The small flowers, in asymmetrical bouquets , remain the best approach of black. Velvety and very double, they take on the appearance of little jewels and follow each other until the frosts a little strong.

This rose must have a deep and fresh soil, consistent and rich. Although it is famous for its frost, it still resists cold, but it damages its young shoots. You will fix it by placing it in a sheltered situation and by carving it quite late, after March 15th , so that it regrows after the frosts. Give him a very bright exposure , but not too much sun, which grills his petals, his color warming up quickly.
