Good news for all fans of Jennifer Aniston: the actress makes her comeback on the small screen. More than 10 years after the stop of Friends, the American joins the casting of a new series, alongside Reese Witherspoon according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project, currently untitled, is signed by Michael Ellenberg, producer of the blockbuster "Prometheus". The screenwriter of the series will be none other than Jay Carson, who works on the series House of Cards. A winning duo, which promises a series of first choice. The two actresses will occupy the two main roles of this new show, which will be interested in the world of New York media and in particular behind the scenes of the morning shows.
This is not the first time that the two women have the opportunity to play together. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon had already responded to an episode of Friends, Reese Witherspoon playing Rachel Green's little sister, played by Jennifer Aniston.
A series still in the embryonic state
For now, the series has yet to find a broadcaster, only Netflix and HBO would be on the rows. Nothing surprising for the latter, given the close relations between Reese Witherspoon and the American channel. The actress is indeed one of the headliners of the series Big Little Lies, big success on HBO. However, we can bet that in view of the cast, other channels might be interested in this new project.
The small screen, new eldorado of the actors?
For Reese Witherspoon, it is indeed the opportunity to take the road to the trays of a television series, shortly after Big Little Lies, series of which season 2 is currently in preparation. She shared the poster alongside several big names of the cinema such as Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley or Alexander Skarsgård. With this new project, the taste of the actress for the television series seems to be confirmed. For Jennifer Aniston, it's a return to the roots, 10 years after the stop of the series which made its success. Anyway, the idea of seeing Rachel Green and her little sister on the screen, brought together on the screen in a new series can only rejoice!
