This is the first thing we see when we arrive at home and, paradoxically, it is also the decorative accessory that we tend to zap. The crown, which hangs proudly at the door of home is a tradition of Christmas as we like them.

Where does the tradition come from?

The Advent wreath (or Christmas wreath) comes from Central Europe. History has it that a German pastor is at the origin of the tradition of the Advent wreath . To calm impatience in the days before Christmas, he lit a small candle every day and a bigger one every Sunday. We have retained only the 4 big candles. Traditionally made of pine or straw branches, the Advent wreath is decorated with 4 candles. Every Sunday in December, we light a candle. So, on Christmas day, the 4 candles shine. In the Christian tradition, these candles symbolize the great stages of salvation before the coming of the Messiah. Today, the tradition has spread ... without necessarily retaining all the symbolism. Exit the candles, bright flowers and leaves.

Where to find his Christmas wreath?

In 2017, L'Occitane and Bergamotte sells Christmas wreaths (to discover in our slideshow).

  • Bergamotte has joined the eshop émoi émoi to imagine 2 crowns, very limited edition, to order on the site of the shop,:
    • Helsinki, made of fresh fir branches and flowers combines the charm of nature and the freshness of the undergrowth. Made to last a few weeks, it brings a touch of softness in our interior decoration.
    • Vienna, 'stabilized crown' which combines branches, pine cones and dried flowers can last several years.
  • At l'Occitane , 3 talented women were called upon to design 3 crowns ... that we could afford and choose from 80 € of purchase in L'Occitane boutiques and on the website. Alix, Marie and Cécile have each imagined an exceptional crown.
    • Immortelle, starry anise, cotton shells in the crown imagined by Alix, creative florist of the Racine workshop in Paris.
    • Marie Starck, at the helm of an eponymous boutique shop, mixed asparagus, golden eucalyptus leaves, rose hip ...
    • As for the crown of Cécile, the Oz Garden flower shop, she puts on the elegant shades of blue: thistle, lavender, limonium and poppy seeds give a unique look to its creation.
