DISSOLVENTS WITHOUT ACETONE
If you are sensitive to acetone in your nail polish remover, you may be able to try an acetone-free remover for your next manicure. This type of solvent dries the nail less than a solvent with acetone. Indeed, the very principle of acetone is to dissolve the fat parts. But our nails are covered with a greasy film that protects them from external aggressions. The skin of the nails is also attacked and becomes dry. Acetone-free nail polish removers do not have these effects on nails and skin. Indeed, they are composed of ethyl acetate, a solvent with properties much less degreasing than acetone. However, solvents without acetone still have the dangers of exposure too frequent and high dose.
THE LEMON: THE SOFT METHOD TO REPLACE ACETONE
There is an all-natural trick to get rid of nail polish without the use of acetone remover. The lemon can very well remove all traces of polish on your nails. This method has the advantage of being safe, good for your nails (the lemon fortifies them) and really economical. To use a lemon as a solvent, squeeze a juicy lemon. Then dip a cotton pad in the concentrated lemon juice and rub your nails. With lemon, you will probably take a little longer to remove your polish, but your nails will not be attacked by acetone and you will not breathe its vapors. The lemon will also whiten your nails if you have nails yellowed by smoking. If you have sensitive skin, it is advisable to dilute the lemon juice in a little water.
RECIPES OF NATURAL DISSOLVANT TO AVOID ACETONE
If you enjoy homemade cosmetics, you can get into making your own natural and homemade solvent. These solvents use vegetable oil to dissolve the varnish. To do this, obtain and mix 10 ml of undenatured organic alcohol, 5ml of evening primrose oil and babassu oil (for hydration), 10 drops of natural vitamin E (a natural antioxidant), 20 drops of wheat protein (to nourish and strengthen your nails). Here is a second natural and effective recipe: mix together 15 ml of wheat germ oil with 10 ml of camellia vegetable oil, 25 ml of undenatured organic alcohol, a few drops of phytokeratin, a few drops of pure lemon juice shake and pour into a bottle. Apply these solvents as conventional solvents.
