"Habanita", the first oriental

Founded in 1849, Molinard perfumery creates "Habanita" in 1921. Originally, it is not a perfume, but a juice intended to permeate the cigarette paper of the "garçonnes" in order to attenuate the " smell too strong of tobacco. A few years later, "Habanita" is launched for sale in perfumery as a real feminine perfume. It is "the most tenacious perfume in the world," says its slogan of the time. He is also considered the first Oriental, as well as "Shalimar" which will be created soon after. Its base notes, amber, vanilla and very persistent, brought by heliotrope, cedar, white musk, vetiver and vanilla, are softened by a floral heart of orange blossom, jasmine, rose and ylang-ylang . In head notes, there is a more fruity trend with bergamot, lemon and peach. Result: a sensual and assertive fragrance, evoking the atmosphere of the boudoirs of the Roaring Twenties through its powdered and vanilla notes.

"Habanita", two versions younger and more modern

In 2012 a revised version of "Habanita" is released, in a bottle also revised and corrected. The original ingredients are still there, but new notes modernize and rejuvenate the composition. The fragrance opens with notes of geranium, small grain, ylang-ylang and lentisque, and then develops a flowered and woody heart composed of jasmine, pink, mimosa, cedar wood and vetiver. The background, on the other hand, asserts its oriental personality with vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood, amber and musk. The spirit of "Habanita", it persists: a fragrance at the same time timeless and elegant, which carries in her a small dose of mystery. To be reserved for women of character! In 2013, a new version of the classic is launched: "Habanita the spirit" wants to be less powerful but just as warm. This oriental is enriched with chypre and musky notes for a modern result. Finished the mat black bottle: this time it is white, but always with the famous frieze signed René Lalique.
