The price of licenses for school sports will increase by 19% at the start of the 2010 academic year , according to an announcement this Tuesday 30 March of the Board of Directors of the National Union of School Sports (UNSS) and the Ministry of Education. The SNEPP-FSU calls on the public authorities "to give up this particularly unwise political choice, even though many families are affected by the economic and social crisis".

In May 2009, the union SNEP-FSU had already expressed its intention to prevent the price of licenses for school sports from rising by 9%. The tariffs remained the same as those applied in 2008 . "School sport allows some students to benefit from sports licenses issued at a reduced rate compared to a license obtained in a civil sports club," explained Serge Chabrol , Secretary General of the SNEPP-FSU at Relaxnews.

Rather than seeing the increase in licenses, the union would like to see the "operating subsidy" of the UNSS increase in a "consistent" manner, a request explicitly stated in a statement issued on Tuesday.

More than one million licensees are registered with the National Union of School Sport, 40% of whom are girls .
