Replacing the ink of a felt with varnish ... The idea seems so simple (and so ingenious) that one really wonders why nobody thought of it earlier! The felt varnish is a small revolution for our manicures ... especially when one is not necessarily skillful of his 10 fingers!

What exactly is felt varnish?

That one who has never colored the nails with a pencil / felt / highlighter throws us the first stone! The idea is exactly the same with the felt varnish. Except that of course, the product is much more suitable. The English brand Ciaté was the first to embark on the adventure, from 2016 with the Mani Makers. Felt markers that look like markers, available in 5 colors and super easy to use. To apply varnish, simply shake, push the tip of the felt down and apply color, cuticles to the tip of the nail while maintaining constant pressure. Until now sold only in the UK, the Mani Makers land in France. Since February 2017, they are exclusive to Sephora. 3 colors (of the 5 existing ones) are available! But Ciaté is not the only one to market this type of products. With Magic Mani, L'Oréal has launched its own varnish ... and we have the choice between 12 colors!

Our opinion on felts

Between our very limited patience (unlike the very long drying time), our cuticles which have the unfortunate tendency to make everything miss and our two left hands, the laying of the varnish is not a part of pleasure.

The advantages of the felt varnish . The felt varnish is well in hand, which makes it, logically, easier to apply. As a result, we are overflowing. In addition, this new nomad format is easy to slip into its bag for touch-ups at any time.

We love less . It is a blow to take, but on the first try, it is not necessarily obvious to maintain the pressure so that the color is dispensed on a regular basis. A small negative point largely compensated by the ease of use of these new varnishes!
