The French are exhausted. This is revealed by an Ipsos study for Bion, published last week. According to the results of this survey, 61% of French people said they felt tired during the past year. And it seems that women suffer more than men because 69% of them responded positively to the question against 54% of men.

Four factors invoked to explain this fatigue

Unsurprisingly, it is the lack of sleep that comes first in the reasons given for this latent fatigue with 44% of the votes, the pace changes (35%), the pressure experienced at work (34%), and the changes of seasons (22%). Similarly, always this Ipsos survey, fatigue also varies depending on the different stages of life. Thus, 53% of high school students feel tired, and this proportion increases with age since 69% of adult couples without children and 72% of young parents suffer from general fatigue.

Anti-fatigue solutions?

The survey goes further by revealing that more than half of respondents say they would already feel better if they could have more time for them. Finally, there are natural solutions to combat fatigue and the seasonal depression that often accompanies it. Among these, breathing, acupuncture, light therapy or hypnosis. And you what do you think ? Do you feel tired? What are your solutions to keep fit?

* This study was conducted by Ipsos for Bion, between 19 and 26 July 2011, with a representative sample of the French population of 1,002 people aged 18 to 70 years.
