Delphine de Vigan continues the successes and the prizes, and seems far from the syndrome of the blank page that she had amused herself to evoke in her novel "According to a true story", which brought to him in 2015 the price Renaudot and Goncourt high school students. Previously, each book release was followed by several awards: for "Nothing is opposed to the night", Delphine de Vigan was awarded in 2011 the FNAC novel prize, the price Roman France Televisions, the price Renaudot high school students and the price of readers of the ELLE magazine.

It is therefore assumed the undisputed success of his next novel, which is entitled "Loyalties" (JC Lattès), in bookstores from January 3 next. The writer seems to be once again drawing inspiration from his life and experience for the writing of this book, since she recently declared in the note entrusted to the publishing house: "It's a novel I'm interested in many who are born from the meeting of two impulses, on the one hand, the question of loyalty which often comes back to me. " And to continue: " At the time when I formulated that, I told myself that if it was a question for me, it probably had to be for a lot of people " .

In her new novel, Delphine de Vigan emphasizes the way in which loyalty underpins our relationships with others, our loved ones with family and friends in the workplace, perceiving that loyalty can come from the promises we make. was done in the past.

"Loyalty" tells a story in nearly 200 pages, with four protagonists, two adult women and two pre-teens, whose points of view are exposed in turn. All are not independent, they know each other with more or less distance. "The loyalties" is the story of Theo, teenager in the 5th class, somewhat disturbed. Her teacher at SVT notices disturbing signs as a former abused child who has vowed never to miss a child who will live the same. Around them, Theo's best friend, Mathis, and Theo's mother. From the first pages, we are caught in an incessant whirlwind, with a dramatic tone. Through these four characters, loyalty is expressed in different ways, depending on the personality of each, and also according to their history.

Once again, we note that the author evokes the notion of a bond that constitutes us, and that we can sometimes disregard: "These are invisible links that bind us to others - to the dead as to the living". Delphine de Vigan then gives her notion of loyalty in the first pages of her new book: "These are promises that we have murmured or whose echoes we do not know, silent loyalties, these are contracts most often made with us. themselves, slogans admitted without having heard them, debts that we shelter in the folds of our memories. " (From the first page of "Loyautés"). A real reflection on the relationship of living beings to each other, and those they want to give themselves.
