The new Google of the week is called "Building Maker" , or, in French, "3D Building Modeler". Concretely, this service allows users to model in a few clicks the buildings in 3D which will be visible later on the software of mapping Google Earth.

Currently, Google Earth offers mainly 2D views, but in some major cities it is possible to view famous buildings or buildings in 3D , such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris . In order to fill out his virtual maps of embossed representations, the Web giant appeals to Internet users.

With Google Building Maker, users can now model their building or school . Simple to use, this tool first proposes to choose a place and then a building on Google Maps. The user must then draw the volumes corresponding to this building from the photos available for this building.

The creative is then saved and sent to the Google team who will validate it and, if necessary, refine it, before publishing it on Google Earth.

For the time being in France, only the cities of Lyon and Marseille are available in this new service, but Paris and other cities will soon follow.
