"Blue Relay" for Colon Cancer Screening

Merck , the laboratory that develops pharmaceutical therapies to fight against cancer and multiple sclerosis, supports the France Côlon association for Mars Bleu . During this month dedicated to the promotion of screening for colorectal cancer, the "Relais Bleu" campaign is set up to make prevention on screening for this cancer . The target age group remains 50 and over, for whom screening is now systematic (thus reimbursed).

In the program :

- The #relaisbleu on twitter allows to inform relatives about the importance of colon cancer screening by tagging 3 close to 50 years old and over.

- A web-tv " Colorectal cancer, let's talk about it! "Created by Actors Health and offers a free downloadable information booklet and many videos on the importance of getting tested, with interviews of health experts .

- Highlighting the immunological test available from his doctor, and to perform at home, in place since April 2015. Refunded at 100%, it is fast and effective for detecting colon cancer.

Early detection

Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in France, all sexes combined. He killed in 2012 nearly 17,500 patients , ranking 2nd most deadly cancer . Disturbing figures that could be revised downwards through screening . According to the League Against Cancer, 9 out of 10 colon cancers can be cured if they are detected early enough. Yet only 30% of French people are screened every year. The "Relais Bleu" campaign invites people aged 50 and over to be screened every two years.
